Wakecogen Webmaster

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Enjoys working with technology and content management.
  • Possesses strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented and a quick learner.
  • A passion for genealogy is a plus!

Duties include:

  • Maintain the content and appearance of the website for the Wake County Genealogical Society.
  • Ensure the site is functioning properly and is available to users.
  • Post updates from Board members, committees, and projects in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with our website provider on technical details and website structure options.
  • Track changes and recommendations to be included in a quarterly report to the WCGS Board.
  • Estimated per month is 1.5-2 hours

Special projects 
  • Short term assistance with genealogical-relevant tasks. Examples include Tasks for finalizing the Wake Cemetery Survey Project
  • Assembling Wake Treasures surname indexes into a comprehensive searchable file for use by researchers
Future Board Directors  
  • This is a leadership position. 
  • Board Directors support the operation of the society and  develop ideas and plans for its future.  
  • The Board meets quarterly.
